Want to buy a realistic-looking black airsoft gun (RIF) from onlyBBguns? Because these guns look so real, UK law (the VCRA Act) requires you to have a valid reason, called a "defence," to own one. Essentially, you need to prove you're buying it for airsoft skirmishing (the sport itself), not for any other purpose.
Here's how you can demonstrate your defence to onlyBBguns and buy a black airsoft gun:
Don't have either of those? No problem! You can still buy the airsoft gun. onlyBBguns can paint it in a two-tone colour scheme. This means part of the gun will be sprayed a bright, non-realistic colour. This makes the gun a "non-realistic imitation firearm" and avoids the restrictions of the VCRA Act. Anyone over 18 can legally buy a two-tone airsoft gun.

The Mosin-Nagant M1891/30 is a modernized version of the original Mosin-Nagant rifle, specifically a variant of the M1891 infantry rifle. While both share the same 7.62x54mmR caliber and bolt-action mechanism, the M1891/30 features a shorter overall length, a simplified receiver, and different barrel bands and handguard.
The Mosin Nagant is a five-shot, bolt-action military rifle with an internal magazine that became a backbone of late 19th and 20th century armies. Often called the “3-line rifle M1891” or, in Russian, vintovka Mosina (and affectionately “mosinka”), it’s most commonly chambered for the 7.62×54mmR cartridge. Designed between 1882 and 1891, it served the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union, and many other nations — one of the most mass-produced bolt-action rifles ever, with production measured in the tens of millions. Even today, despite its age and traditional design, the Mosin turns up in conflicts and collections worldwide.
Double Bell has taken that legacy and turned it into a skirmishable airsoft replica that captures the Mosin’s character. Modeled on the M1891/30 — the variant issued across Soviet infantry from the 1930s through World War II — this replica keeps the classic silhouette while adding airsoft-friendly mechanics. The standout is a push-bolt cocking system: instead of the usual pull, the piston is cocked by pushing the bolt forward. That choice makes the shell-ejection gimmick possible while preserving the feel of loading and chambering individual rounds.
Loading this replica is deliberately tactile. The internally fed magazine holds up to five shells, mirroring the real rifle’s capacity, and the process of inserting each shell and chambering a round is satisfyingly mechanical. The built-in shell ejection adds a visual and auditory flourish that heightens immersion — small details that matter when you’re after authenticity on the field or in a collection.
Under the wood and metal, Double Bell didn’t cut corners: metal internals boost durability and keep the rifle reliable across use. A preinstalled tight-bore inner barrel improves shot-to-shot consistency and accuracy, and an adjustable hop-up gives you the usual tuning room to stretch effective range if you want. Those features make it both usable out of the box and open to modest upgrades or fine tuning.
The receiver is tapped and fitted for a curved bolt handle to accommodate a 3.5× PU scope mount — optional but a welcome nod to authentic sniper setups. The stock and furniture are real wood finished in varnish, giving the rifle its weight, warmth, and the kind of finish that wears into character rather than looking plasticky. Overall, the build feels rugged and thoughtfully finished.
