WE M4A1 PCC
Specifications
Features
Pistol calibre carbines are all the rage in the real world especially in America at the moment with 9mm being much cheaper than 5.56 rifle ammunition. The benefit of a 9mm M4 style AR rifle over a standard sub gun like an MP5 or an Uzi is that the operation and manual of arms is the same as the full calibre rifle and so doesn’t require a whole load more practice and training to use it properly. Making them popular training weapons too. Of course in the airsoft world, this all means relatively little. The main difference is the look. And variety is the spice of life, so it’s cool that WE-Tech offer this as an option with their Open Bolt Gas Blowback System.
This particular variant is loosely based on a Colt SMG Model 991. It features a metal outer barrel and an outer barrel extension which is removable just past the front sight. This is useful for anyone who wants to run a suppressor or tracer but not lose inner barrel length and therefore accuracy and range. The nylon reinforced polymer handguards are robust and sturdy with double heat shields inside them. They are secured in place with a delta ring and end cap, like a standard M4 and are so replaceable with any real steel or airsoft replacement railed options if you so prefer, making the PCC pretty customisable. The receiver is also metal and features a removable carry handle revealing a standard 20mm rail for the mounting of an optic. The gun has a comfy and slim polymer pistol grip that is more realistic in size than AEG versions as it doesn’t require a motor, making it more comfortable and realistic feeling. There’s then a standard 6 position metal buffer tube and polymer stock. Internally the WE M4 PCC is mostly made of metal and is compatible with their entire Open Bolt System rifle parts and a whole range of upgrade options too.
The 45 round magazines, as well as being higher in capacity than standard WE M4 magazines, are seemingly a bit more gas efficient. They are longer and fatter which somehow makes up for them being narrower and this, coupled with the finish on them seems to improve their ability to hold more gas and prevent the effects of cool down. Their size and shape also make them easier to carry more of, keeping you playing and in the game longer. Despite what some retailers may say, they ARE NOT Glock magazines, they merely just imitate them. So you can’t use youe WE Glock mags in them.
Note* When filling the magazine with gas, there's a few things you can do to help keep it working properly and ensure they last as long as they should.
So to recap that... Gas in, fill downwards, just a few seconds, only release it by firing it out (dry firing with no BBs is fine) and always leave some or put some in for storage. Gassed mags are happy mags.
